MORRIS MINI COOPER 'S' 1275cc. Tribute car to Rauno Aaltonen's 1967 Monte Carlo rally car, LBL 6D. Full Group 2, Appendix J specification. Built by Kevin Clarke on an original 1967 Austin Mini Cooper 'S' with further works being undertaken by the most recent owner. The attention to detail is close to being obsessive. Rally specification engine by Bill Richards, Quaife gearbox internals, roof mounted spare wheels, roll bar etc. The list goes on right down to the correct tow rope and first aid kit as carried on the rally. It has virtually all original period parts which took years to accumulate rather than the more readily available reproduction types. Exhibited at Essen's Techno Classica as part of the 2011 '100 Years of the Monte Carlo Rally' display.
